A Few Things First

We’re a small team and every seat counts. We run an intimate service — timing, menu choices, and communication help us create the best experience for everyone.

Groups of 8–12 guests can be accommodated in our private dining room, The Martin Room (minimum spend applied) For more details, please see our Private Dining section.

DINING AREAS

Our Bay Street venue offers three distinct dining areas. When booking, please take a moment to review each option to ensure the best experience for your visit.

Main Dining Room

Our main dining space features views of the open kitchen and offers the full Bottarga dining experience. This area is ideal for guests seeking an immersive, intimate experience at the heart of the restaurant.

The Lounge & Bar Area

Located at the front of the restaurant, this area offers a relaxed, lively atmosphere. Seating includes both standard tables within the bar area and bar stools at the counter, both options offer our full food and beverage experience, depending on your preference. Please note that Lounge & Bar bookings cannot always be moved to the Main Dining Room if it is fully booked.

Upstairs Dining Room (The Martin Room)

The Martin Room is located upstairs and provides a quieter, more private setting. During regular service, tables of four may be seated here if the Main Dining Room becomes fully booked with less guest counts. Please note that this area is accessible by stairs only. If stairs are an issue for any guest in your group, kindly mention this in your booking notes.

DINING TIME

Each booking is allocated for 2 hours.

Our main dining room is designed for guests wishing to enjoy a complete dining experience, sharing a variety of dishes and pairing them with wines or cocktails at a relaxed pace.

For lighter or more casual visits, we recommend reserving a table in our bar or the lounge area, where you can enjoy smaller bites or a single course in a more flexible setting

MENU SELECTIONS

Given the intimate nature of our restaurant, we kindly ask that you confirm your menu selection at the time of booking. For the best experience, the entire table is required to dine on the same menu — either the Chef’s Selection or the Tasting Experience. These options cannot be split across the same table.

Alternatively, you are welcome to book a standard reservation and enjoy our à la carte menu, featuring snacks and seasonal specials available on the day.

Due to our small team and the complexity of our menu, we kindly ask that all dietary requirements be advised at the time of booking. This ensures smooth service for all guests and allows us to uphold the integrity of each dish. If you are coeliac, diabetic, or suffer from food intolerances or severe allergies, it is essential that you let us know when booking so we can operate safely and deliver the highest quality experience.

CHEF'S SELECTIONS — $98pp

A shared experience of 6–8 dishes, curated by our kitchen team and changing weekly. This is the best way to experience Bottarga without needing to choose. Most dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. As this menu is designed to be shared, dietary modifications are only possible by prior arrangement.

TASTING EXPERIENCE — $175pp

Our full Bottarga signature degustation, showcasing premium produce and our most expressive dishes.

Please note: If you do not eat seafood, we recommend booking a standard reservation rather than the tasting menu. A pescatarian version is available on request. Due to the nature of this menu, we are unable to offer dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan options without prior arrangement, and last-minute requests cannot be guaranteed. Individual dishes cannot be modified or removed.

We always do our best to accommodate special requests where possible. To ensure a seamless dining experience, please advise any requirements in advance. Failure to advise dietary needs at the time of booking may incur a surcharge. Menu pricing is subject to change without notice.

Please note that our menu is subject to change in both pricing and ingredients due to seasonal availability, without prior notice. We reserve the right to make these changes.

BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Credit card details are required to secure all reservations. No charges will be made at the time of booking.

If you need to cancel or amend your reservation, you may do so online via our booking partner link up to 48 hours prior to your reservation time. Within 48 hours, please contact us directly. We understand that plans can change, and wherever possible, we are happy to reschedule your booking rather than apply cancellation fees.

To help our small team stay organised, we kindly request that rescheduling or change requests be made at least 48 hours in advance.  Cancellations or reschedules within 24 hours of your reservation will incur a fee of $65 per person. No-shows will incur a fee of $100 per person.

For guests dining on our Tasting Experience, Chef’s Selection, or as part of a group booking, a fee of $65 per person will apply for any cancellations or reductions in numbers made within 24 hours of the booking time.

For group bookings of 9 or more guests, a deposit may be required.

Please note: cancellation fees are not intended as profit, but simply to help us manage our intimate space, food and stock daily ordered, our small team, and to respect other guests who also value and honour these commitments.

ACCESSIBILITY

We warmly welcome guests using wheelchairs, however please note that our restrooms are located upstairs and may not be accessible for all. As a heritage building, we are limited in what modifications we can make. If you will be bringing a wheelchair, please advise us in the booking notes so our staff can be ready to assist you as needed.

CHILD POLICY

Given the intimate nature of our dining room, our setting may not be suitable for all children. Families are welcome to book earlier times between 4:30pm–5:30pm, and we kindly ask that parents/guardians supervise their children at all times to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all guests.

198 BAY STREET BRIGHTON, VIC 3186 | TUESDAY TO SUNDAY DINNER FROM 5pm

We acknowledge the Boon Wurrung (Bunurong) people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we gather, create, and share. We pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. This land always was, and always will be, First Nations land. As immigrants, we are grateful to live, work, and build our lives on this Country. We honour the generosity of the land, the stories it holds, and the opportunity it gives us to share food, culture, and connection. It is a privilege to be here, and we are proud to contribute our part while respecting the First Nations people who have cared for this place for tens of thousands of years.
